Connected Devices and Settings
Objectives

Why it's useful
By checking her connected devices, Léa sees "Browser", "Browser" and "Browser extension". She renames them "Office laptop", "Home PC" and "Office extension". The day an unknown device requests her approval, she will spot it immediately.
Your account is used from multiple devices: the VaultysID of your phone, your browsers, the extension, and even Windows Hello. Monitoring them means ensuring that no one else is logging in as you.
Your turn
- In the sidebar, click on Connected Devices. Identify the columns Type, Name, Status, and Events. → Connected Devices
- Rename each device with the pencil icon, choosing a meaningful name. → Rename a Device
- Check the history: click on the counter in the Events column. You will see the record, successful connections, refusals, and approval requests. → Device History
- Approval: a new device appears with the status Your approval is required and an Approve button. → Approve a Device
- Profile and Preferences: avatar at the top right, then Settings, tab General. Modify your phone if needed, then choose the theme and language. → General Settings
- Notifications: tab Notifications. For each event, check By email, In the app, both or none. Each change is saved immediately. → Notifications
- Take a look at the About tab: documentation, release notes, legal documents. → About
caution
Only approve a device if you initiated the request. If an unknown device appears, do not approve it and notify your administrator.
Check Your Knowledge
1An unknown device is waiting for your approval. What do you do?
2Why can't you delete your default device?
3You uncheck both channels of a notification. What happens to the event?
4Why are some notifications' 'In the app' checkbox locked?
Key Takeaways
- Give your devices meaningful names: the history becomes readable.
- Never approve a device that you did not initiate.
- Notifications are set event by event, by email and/or app.
