(Optional) Folder Administrator

Duration10 minLevelIntermediateOfferOffre de basePrerequisitesDashboard
Who is this for?

This lesson is only for users to whom an administrator has delegated the management of a folder, for example, a team leader. If the Folder Administrator page does not appear for you, proceed to the final assessment.

Objectives

0 / 4 objectives achieved — check them off as you go through the lesson.

Why it’s useful

At DataFlow, Marc leads the sales team. The administrator has delegated him the folder "Sales". When a new sales representative arrives, Marc gives them access to the CRM himself, without opening a ticket.

A folder groups applications and the people who have access to it. Delegating its management brings the decision closer to those who understand the need.

Your turn

  1. Check your rights. They are set by a global administrator:

    • Passwords: always granted;
    • Modify administrators: see the Users tab, designate the responsible persons and define their rights;
    • Modify applications and Create applications (which includes the previous one);
    • Modify the folder: change its name.

    → Folder Administrator

  2. Open the Folder Administrator page, choose a folder from the left column, then click on Configure. → Overview

  3. Browse the available tabs: Users, Applications, and Security. Those you do not see correspond to rights you do not have. → Folder Management Page

  4. In the Security tab, check the passwords related to the applications of the folder. → Security Tab

Check your knowledge

1What right is always available for a folder administrator?
2You do not see the Users tab. Why?
3Who decides the rights of a folder administrator?

Key takeaways

  • You only see the folders that have been delegated to you.
  • The visible tabs reflect your rights.
  • Missing a right? Ask a global administrator for it.
