Manage Devices

Objectives

0 / 4 objectives achieved — check them off as you go through the lesson.

Why It's Useful

Each user sees their own devices in Connected Devices. The administrator, on the other hand, needs the big picture: which browsers, extensions, and Windows Hello devices have access to the organization, which are awaiting approval, from which country and what IP address they last connected.

Your Turn

  1. In the sidebar, click on Bastion. The Devices tab lists the approved devices and pending approval requests.
  2. Find the blocked device at the end of the previous lesson: its status is Pending Approval. Click on Approve.
  3. Reconnect with the test account: access is granted.
  4. Open the Event History of a device to see its logs, connections, and denials.
  5. Delete a test device: it will no longer be able to access the platform.
caution

Deleting a device is permanent. For a collaborator who has lost their phone, prefer the base procedure: Replace a Device.

Windows Hello, custom devices, AI agents

Windows Hello devices appear in this list as a separate type of device; their registration procedure does not yet have a page in the manual. Custom devices and the AI Agents tab (agents authenticated by their own VaultysID) are announced coming soon. Do not confuse them with the MCP server from the module Integration, which is available.

Check Your Knowledge

1A newcomer cannot connect: their folder policy requires approval. Where can it be unlocked?
2In the basic offer, without the Bastion module, who manages a user's devices?
3Which of these module functions are announced as coming soon?

Key Takeaways

  • Bastion › Devices provides an overview of the organization's devices.
  • Devices Pending Approval are unlocked with Approve.
  • Custom devices and AI agents: coming soon.
